Secret reminders
Secret supper, Thursday the 19th at 7pm, is fast approaching and there is only about 12 seats left to be filled. The supper is $45 for a four course meal with an optional wine pairing for a bit more.

Don’t forget to come out a bit early that evening for ‘Southport Lights Up’ from 5-8pm – all of Southport will be turning their holiday lights at 6pm. To get you into the spirit: musicians will play holiday tunes, stores will have great gifts, and some will even have holiday drinks – to make the evening just a bit more jolly.

Yummy pies and more for Thanksgiving
Turkey day is right around the corner and we’re gearing up for our Thanksgiving carry-out menu. For ready-to-eat pies this year we have: Rustic Apple Oatmeal, Maple Pumpkin, or Bourbon Pecan. We also have frozen – just reheat and eat – apple pies, or frozen thaw-and-eat pumpkin pies.

Our grocery will also be bursting with new and tasty items that will have your guests asking for seconds – from our house-made cranberry-red grape sauce, to Urban Accents Sumptuous Stuffing mix, to Golden Fig Gravy Herbs – we’ve got you covered. Don’t forget about our wine and candy selection for great hostess gifts – like the new holiday flavors from Truffle Truffle.

Orders for the Thanksgiving take-away menu are due the 22nd; you can pick up your goodies anytime before 4pm on the 25th of November. We are closed on Thanksgiving day, but will be back to serve your family breakfast on Friday.

Taverns have Thirsty Thursdays and Radio Stations have Three-For-Thursdays.
Thursdays have always been good for finding cheap booze and Led Zeppelin rock blocks.

Southport Avenue wants in on the sweet Thursday action, so particpating stores
will be running specials until 8PM every Third Thursday of the Month until October.

For July, it means that on this Thursday, July 16th, Southport Avenue will be bursting
with activity as artists and musicians will be scattered on Southport from Belmont to Byron.

Southport Grocery & Cafe will be bustling with rarely seen dinner activity until 8PM.
It’s a great opportunity to try one of those sandwiches you see on the menu during breakfast
but never order because you’re in the mood for eggs.

This Thursday this Turkey Sandwich, could be your dinner.   

While we will be offering our regular menu for dinner this Third Thursday, word on the
street is that the Third Thursday in August will be our next Secret Supper…Shhhhhhh.

On Friday, June 26th, from 5PM – 8PM Southport Avenue will be bursting with activity as our lovely street celebrates Southport Summer Stroll.

Those who check out the festivities will enjoy strolling musicians and special sales in participating stores.

Those who check out Southport Grocery & Cafe will find our doors open past 4PM!!! We’re having a Not-So-Secret Supper in that everybody knows about it and it’ll be our normal menu along with a special or two.

Southport Summer Stroll is for all ages. Sheil Park Playground will have music entertainment for the kiddies and as always we have a menu especially “For Little Ones.”

So, the not-so-secret is out…We’re keeping our doors open until 8 PM this Friday night…and nobody has to keep their mouths shut.

Believe it or not…Spring is here and Southport Avenue is hopping into action!

On Sunday April 5th, Southport Merchants partner with Chicago Canine Rescue Foundation to present “Hop Around the Shops” an opportunity to adopt a dog from many of the shops along Southport including right here at the Grocery!  To help celebrate the day stop by for a $3 bloody mary’s & mimosas.
