Our staff are all food lovers and they have daily interaction with the products on our shelves. We asked everyone what they’re enjoying most right now, to give you a glimpse into some of the tastiest products available:

Bill, one of our chefs, says that chilaquiles are his favorite breakfast to whip up at home and since Salsa Verde is the key ingredient, that has to be his pick.

Emily, our retail assistant, loves Top Note’s Bitter Orange Tonic, which we use in the old fashioned mimosa here at Southport. The bitter orange really makes it!

Katie, our marketing manager (hey, that’s me!), has a soft spot for ice cream and is currently loving Milwaukee based Purple Door’s Malted Chocolate Chocolate Chunk. It’s the perfect mix of creamy and chunky!

Lisa, the owner here at Southport, has so many favorites and couldn’t pick just one! She really loves the Preserve Periodical Vol.1, (our first recipe book, packed with recipes using our preserves) since it allows you to explore our house-made goods in a whole new way. She is also currently really enjoying the Carrot Ginger Shrub, made with organic carrots and local ginger paired with a wonderful acidity. Easy drinking mixed on ice or shaken with vodka.

McKenzie, our retail manager, can’t get enough of the EPIC animal oil range. These add so much more flavor than when you cook with butter. Great for roasting potatoes!

Noemi, another chef, is a big fan of our Bread & Butter Pickles. She uses them on sandwiches and also loves mixing the brine into salad dressings.

Tanner, our chef de cuisine, loves a good Pickled Ramp and the house-made versions just happen to be his favorite. He recommends using them as a garnish for a Bloody Mary, or using the brine as the “dirty” in a Dirty Martini.

Next time you’re in the grocery, have a look at the shelves and find your favorites! Already have one of your own you want to share with the world? Leave us a comment below, we’d love to hear what your pick is.
