The trifecta…Napa, San Fran & the Fancy Food Show

January brings the Fancy Food Show, an opportunity to get into some better weather,
and get some food-inspiration from the West Coast.  Some of favs from the past
month’s trip to Napa and San Fran.

Alexsis Baking Company & Cafe (or ABC to the locals) is a great neighboorhood gem in Napa …
breakfast burgers on a potato bun, cornmeal panackes and onsite baking in a cozy spot.

Our favorite brunch….Redd in Yountville.  The chef’s tasting menu hit all the right dishes
and took the stress out of deciding.   A light handed asian infusion menu gave this place a twist.
The bacon infused vodka bloody … a perfect balance with the added smokiness!

Gott’s Roadside in St Helena …local, sustainable and a drive-in!  A must have….the pistachio shake 🙂

While in San Fran Blue Bottle Coffee is a must…. a well defined coffee house with a
very designed food menu.  Coffee scientists … they have the siphon bar to prove it.
Our breakfast … poached eggs … one on cornbread with Prather Ranch spicy italian
sausage, jalapeno and mixed greens, the other on buttered thick cut toast
with Prather Ranch ham and gruyere sauce.  Love the location at 66 Mint Plaza :)!

I wish I took more pics at our fav italian restaurant in San Fran … L’osteria del Forno.  We dove right
in and I completely forgot.  This is their carpacio.  This place is very small but well worth the wait.

And yes there was work …at the entrance of the Fancy Food Show .
